It's mostly there to enable sharing/transfers between DAW products that are on both macOS and Win10. I also use Paragon Software's 'HFS for Windows' product, but nothing in the video work really requires it. What is more likely is that the postgreSQL will be the proper answer for alternate usage between macOS and Win10. So far everything is just fine, but I have hopes of eventually figuring out the permissions/ownership problems and having a single database on the cache/stills volume alternately (not concurrently) used by macOS and Win10. I use a product from Paragon Software called 'NTFS for Mac' that provides full-speed read/write usage of the media volume. NTFS disks can be read by macOS, but not written to.
